Authentic whiskey barrels originate from a variety of distilleries such as Heavens Hill, Four Roses, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey just to name a few. These whiskey barrels are charred inside from the process of making the whiskey and bourbons we all enjoy. Makes for a great, yard decor or canvas for a talented artist. This is a solid piece that will bring years of enjoyment for the simplicity of it being an authentic oak whiskey barrel.
Whiskey Barrels are darker in color with rusty rings that secure the barrel staves. These barrels are typically common in size and shape. 53 gallons and weigh about 100 pounds
Dimensions: 35” high. Top and bottom of barrels 22” diameter. Belly (Center of the barrel) 24” diameter.
Options:
Raw barrel means you are getting a barrel that has not been touched by us. We buy them and store them and perhaps this is your option because you are going to create something from your barrel.
Barrel with screws= We will wash off the barrels and add screws to the rings of the barrels. This helps keep rings in place. This option is $10 more but is great if you plan on putting your barrels outdoors. Barrels will swell and shrink with the weather. They swell when wet this is how the barrels keep their tight form when housing their bourbon during the process. However, when a barrel is empty and the weather gets dry and hot the barrel’s staves will shrink slightly, and if loose enough the rings securing the barrel will fall. We offer to add screws to secure the rings without touching the wood with a clearcoat or finish
Barrel with screws and polyeurthane= This is what we call a “Finished Barrel” so we will wash the barrels from any dirt or spillage. We then add the screws to the rings and finish the barrels off with a clearcoat of indoor/outdoor polyurethane. This gives the barrel a clean finished look. This option is best for indoors or outdoors. It looks great indoors as a table in a living room, bar, or mancave.

Wine or Whiskey?
Wine barrels are lighter in color with galvanized rings. They have gold tones, grayish tones to them. Wine barrels are 59 gallons and come in 2 variations. Tall= 37” x 28” (approximately) or Short + 35” height x 29” (approximately)
Whiskey barrels are darker with rusty rings. They have dark brown and blackish tones to them. Whiskey barrels are 53 gallons and are 35” x 24” diameter
Each barrel is unique with color, stains and markings so variations are to be expected
Do you want us to add screws and polyurethane ?
***Barrels are designed to keep its form and tightness from holding liquid inside. The wine or alcohol housed by the barrels help keep the wood swollen and tight. With time the barrels will shrink and cause the metal bands to become loose and fall. We offer to add screws and coat the outside of your barrel for an additional $25. So unless you are going to add the reinforcement yourself or plan on taking the barrel apart for a project we recommend doing this for longevity. Feel free to select this option when purchasing a barrel.
Will this barrel be placed inside your home?
Wine and whisky barrels make great outdoor décor as a stand alone table. They also make for great pieces inside homes also. We have hundreds of barrels in stock and for the most part are outdoors. Which can make a cozy spot for little critters so we recommend allowing us to take the barrel apart so that we can power wash the inside and get it cleaned out to place in your home. This is service is only $25.
